Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator).

Prepare the Dry Mix: In another bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Coat the Chicken: Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk mixture. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Shake off the excess flour and set aside.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken pieces in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Honey Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Mix well until combined. Allow it to simmer for about 2-3 minutes.

Combine and Serve: Drizzle the honey butter sauce over the fried chicken or toss the chicken in the sauce until well-coated.

Garnish and Present: Transfer the honey butter chicken to a serving platter and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a hint of freshness.
