Ingredients

12 large pasta shells

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, half of the mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Fill the Shells: Take each cooked pasta shell and carefully fill it with the spinach and ricotta mixture. Use a spoon or your fingers to gently stuff each shell.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the stuffed shells on top of the sauce in a single layer, open side up.

Add Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are well covered. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, allow the shells to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delightful meal!
