Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and place them on a plate.

Make Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for an additional 15 seconds to release the flavors.

Create Creamy Base: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the garlic and butter mixture. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until it slightly thickens.

Add Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until fully melted and integrated into the sauce. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper, if necessary. If you like, add lemon zest for added freshness.

Combine Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the creamy garlic sauce to coat evenly. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
