Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package refrigerated pizza dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Chopped cilantro (for garnish)

Salsa and sour cream (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking and breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the Meat: Sprinkle in the taco seasoning along with 1/2 cup water. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Assemble the Taco Sticks: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut the dough into rectangles (about 4x6 inches). Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto the center of each rectangle, followed by some cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

Fold and Seal: Fold the dough over the filling to form a stick shape. Press the edges firmly to seal. Optionally, use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving. Enjoy warm with salsa and sour cream on the side for dipping!
